Update, 9 months old.

Addison has had a busy week, and there is more to come. Yesterday was her 9 month well baby checkup. She is well - little. She weighed exactly 14 pounds. She's developmentally just doing fantastic - we have a crawler!!! She follows me all over the house.

She has started saying a few words including "Mama", "Dada", "Ahhhhison!", "Hi" and her favorite, "Nigh-nigh!" Thats what we get to listen to for like 10 minutes every night before she falls asleep.

On Monday we went to see a neurologist who doesn't think its a neurological problem...which was great news of course. She think its a metabolic disorder and urged us to contact the geneticist at Children's Hospital of Michigan. We will hopefully be able to get into see them relatively quickly.

Today, Addison had a TON of bloodwork done. 7 tubes, and it took 6 pokes to get enough blood out. It was definitely the worst weve had yet - shes old enough to understand what is happening and she just started at me sobbing like "Why wont you make them stop?!" It was horrible and it took them almost an hour to get enough blood from her for everything they needed. The good news is that we are finally looking at some more metabolic stuff, so perhaps this will reveal something.

I really can't believe we still don't know anything after all this time.

  1. So glad to see a new update (I check periodically, just to see if there's news about your precious baby, who is just a few weeks older than mine!). There are some hopeful developments! Granted, you don't have an answer, but at least the neurologist doesn't think it's that. Whew. And fingers crossed that you'll learn something at CHM.

What a big girl saying so many words! Her body may be giving her a hard time, but her mind is certainly not! Cute little smarty pants :)

  2. I have been following you (thru BBC) for a while now. I always check for updates and am glad to see one today. I'm not sure if you have tried this or not yet, but have you been to a chiropractor? My husband was having some health issues and nobody could solve it, but our chiropractor was able to figure out what was wrong with him and just with some simple adjustments weekly, he is back to normal. Specifically you would want to find a NUCCA care chiropractor in your area. Do a little research on it and you would be amazed at what it can do! It may not be the answer to what you're looking for, but it's worth a shot! Good luck and you are in our prayers!
