Prayer Request

This has been weighing on my heart all week and I finally feel open enough to share it with you. I normally make it a point to keep our financial situation personal, mostly because there are so many people out there who are struggling more than us and even though we are far from rich, we make just enough to get by and we really never feel poor. Since the end of January, Adam started a mandatory training course that is unpaid for his job, and you are supposed to file unemployment during it. However, we learned when we went to file, that due to a tax error by a former employer, Adam's unemployment is having trouble getting processed. We are on our third week without a paycheck and the situation with the unemployment is still trying to be resolved.

In the meantime, things are starting to pile up on our credit cards and we have no money coming in. At the end of March, DJing will start back up, and our tax refund will be here, and I'm sure we will be able to get back on our feet. But in the meantime, when I am about to have a baby in the next few weeks, its a very big stress in my life as the bills come in and we can't pay them. I am just asking that you would take a minute of your time and say a prayer that God will see us through this as He always does, and that the stress will be minimal on our family until things level out again.

I guess I had better stop procrastinating and finish loading up the car... its almost time to leave for Cincinnati. Your continued prayers and thoughts for a safe trip, and for her surgery tomorrow are so appreciated.

  1. You should be able to apply for SSI for Addison and you may qualify for some other services. Hopefully things will improve. Good lick in Cincinnati

    1. Thank you Carrie - right now unfortunately she doesn't qualify for SSI because of her lack of qualifying diagnosis, but I appreciate your suggestion. We should be okay once we get through this little rough patch. :)

    2. You do nor necessarily need a diagnosis, since she is EI age you would need her IFSP -( birth to three IEP), and testing that shows that she has a cognitive delay or global delay. It is harder to qualify but if you have the testing that you have shared there should be no issue. I have dealt with this many, many times with parents. Just keep it in mind.

  3. Prayers every night for Addison and the entire family. Please email me eydie@cox.net to see how I can send some of money (i'm sure it's a tiny amount compared to all of your expenses, but I'd love to help with what I can).

  4. Prayers definitely!! But please create an Amazon wishlist/Target wishlist or something (I understand not wanting to publicly share an address). Would love to be able to help out a fellow November Birth Club member! I love to pay it forward in any little way I can.

    1. Thank you - thats a thought. I didn't really feel comfortable with people sending money, so that is a great idea. Thank you for the thought and keep an eye out, I will post soon on a few things that could help us out. I so appreciate your thinking of us.

    1. Jennifer, thank you! I didn't get this until after we got home, but we will be back again sometime next week, not sure yet how long we are staying this time. Thank you for the offer, that is so kind. We really appreciate the thought and I will let you know if we are staying at all this time.
