Leaving ICU hopefully..

Audrina is doing well on the oxygen now and not having as many apnea spells. She had a very uneventful night, so they are going to let us leave the intensive care and go back to the regular peds floor today as long as she does okay from the sedation of the MRI. I would love to get back to the floor, I had a couch to sleep on instead of just a rocking chair! :)

It makes me nervous to not have someone watching her one on one, but I know if anything gets touchy, they will bring her right back down here again. Plus, I will be with her 100% of the time and I sure as hell won't let anything happen to her on my watch.

They drew the rest of her labs this morning and we are just waiting on those, and then later the EEG will be unhooked and the echocardiogram and MRI will be done. I will update on those results as soon as I can.

Adam is back to work today after being off almost 8 weeks. He's very happy to get back to 'doing stuff' - I guess being a stay at home dad really wasn't for him, haha. My mom and dad got back from Jamaica last night and I'm looking forward to see them today. That's all I've got for now.... Have a great day everyone and hopefully I will have some good news to report later.

  1. Hello Kim, I found your blog from the Cincinnati Friends fb group. My daughter is a patient at the colorectal center...anyway, i just wanted to add my thoughts and prayers. I've been following your story for weeks and just wanted to introduce myself and make my support visible to you. Praying for continued progress and that God will bring both you and Audrina strength today.

  3. Kim,
I have followed your blog since getting to know you on the April BB of BBC. Your courage and strength attracted me because I believe GOD is able! I am praying for Audrina and your whole family. I am praying especially for you, today. While my LOs nicu stays were very short compared to yours, I do understand a little of the heartache of being unable to 'fix it' for our babies.

Keep your eyes on Jesus!!!! I am praying that you see God all around you today. In His omnipresent, amazing, loving way! Prayers headed your way from Columbus, OH!!

  4. Hi Kim,

I am a fellow November 2010 mom from the Baby Center site and have been following your blog since you started it. I am sure it is a challenging time right now but remember that God's eye is on the sparrow-both Addison and Audrina-and He never gives us more than we can bear. Praying for you in Bend, Oregon.

    Best,

    Amber
